Our Senior Men

Ballarat Oldcats first entered the Ballarat competition in 2009. In the beginning, the team was an offshoot of the Ballarat University hockey club.

Thanks to the sterling efforts of founding members like Gareth Allen, Scott Mason and Gavin Mann, the team survived some difficult times in the early years to eventually become the outstanding example of feline ferocity seen today.

Despite the odd season of home and away brilliance along the way, it was only 2016 that saw the club finally register its maiden finals win.

The stage has been set: a preliminary final in 2016, and our playing group has expanded so that we’re looking at a possible second team in 2017. The future’s looking bright, now we just need to get that premiership monkey off the back…
